Jen Silvera

Jennifer Silvera, known by most as Jen, has been a doula since 2016 and is currently a student midwife, placenta specialist, and student clinical herbalist, in addition to being a mama of 6. Her passion for birthwork bloomed from an early age, and only deepened with her own birth experiences. Jen is originally from South Jersey and now currently lives in Northern Delaware. She is on the Executive Board of Black Mothers In Power where she currently serves as the Board President and works with the non-profit to help address the disparities birthing people of color and within marginalized communities face at an astronomically higher rate than their lesser melanated counterparts. When Jen is not in the throes of fighting for reproductive health rights, she can be found casually walking through Target with a latte in hand, living like a true millennial dancing her heart out to boy bands, or in her garden growing food and medicine for her family.
